If I Could Change The World
Some humans are so scared of the world that they attack others with a benign hope that it will better help themselves.
If I could change the world it would be to grow a place of tolerance and good will in the hearts of those afflicted by their own poisons. If it was possible I would hope to be an example in my own life, what is left of it to let go of those awful things too.
Daily, hourly and sometimes minute by minute I am reminded that there is more to living than blindly consuming and winning. If I could change the world it would be to help others and to have less in order to give more.
The sun trickles through the blinds in this room and I lie here warm and protected. If I could change the world it would be for others to have the very same warmth and protection they need to grow strong.
My children went off to school happy and animated this morning. If I could change the world everyone would have an opportunity to see their own children happy and secure in their own worlds.
I am privileged, loved and happy enough to let tears occasionally fall from my eyes as I look around perplexed as to how others can hurt and maim those who they have never had a chance to even talk to.
If I could change the world it would start with me, being stronger in will and in mind, being able to shift in others awareness what I had previously thought was someone else’s problem. If I could change the world it would be me.
